The band was just finalizing the album mixing last night (October 28) when Diwa suddenly decided to do an ambush interview with his band members and the album’s sound engineer. Listen to the band as they give you a preview of what’s to come once Makiling’s 3rd Album is launched on December 5, 2008 at Cubao Expo.

Makiling Launches 3rd Album!

Good news to all Pinoy World Music fans!

Makiling (formerly Makiling Ensemble) has finished recording their third album and is now in the process of final mixing. The new album, titled “MALAKAS at MAGANDA” is a double-album that contains 24 songs. 22 of the songs are totally new compositions while 2 songs are remixes of old compositions. All tracks are composed, arranged and performed by Makiling.

Also, unlike the guest artist studded first and second albums, there will be none this time around. It’s all Makiling from inside and out. The band is inviting all kinds of music lovers all-around the world, to attend their album launch events on December 2008. The schedule is as follows:

December
05 - Main Album Launch event, Mogwai, Cubao Shoe Expo, Cubao, Quezon City. 7pm. No entrance fee!
12 - Molokai’s Bar and Grill, Alabang, 9pm.
13 - Penguin Cafe, along Bocobo St. cor Remedios Circle, Malate, Manila, 9pm.
20 - Conspiracy, along Visayas ave., Quezon City 9pm

The band is composed of Diwa de Leon (violin, hegalong), Evan Britanico (bass, vocal), David Sicam (guitar), Otto Hernandez (percussion), and Wed Lodriga (cajon, snare).
